You need a new complaint about kids these days? They seem to be growing fangs and claws. At least they are in Wolf Pack, the latest series from Teen Wolf executive producer Jeff Davis. It’s not hard to grok the premise from the title, but if it wasn’t entirely clear, a bit of dialogue from this trailer will certainly sort things out. “We’ve never killed anything before,” a wolfish teenager says, anxiously.
“You’ve never had a pack before,” a seemingly responsible adult replies.
Well, okay.
The premise of Wolf Pack seems like it might hint at climate change, but nothing that serious is anywhere to be found in the trailer. Amid horrible wildfires, something comes out of the woods—and in its wake, a gaggle of teens start wolfing out. Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is the arson investigator sent to dig into the fires; Rodrigo Santoro (Westworld) is a park ranger and adoptive father of two of the troubled teens. The four youths are played by Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson, and Tyler Lawrence Gray.
Gellar told Den of Geek last year that she’s “the Giles” of the show, referencing Buffy’s beloved mentor figure. But her character is also a mystery of her own: “I can tell you a lot about each of the other characters, but I’m the one that you’re like, ‘What?’ It just seems like I’m all business, and I have a mission, and I’m on it.”
Wolf Pack premieres January 26th on Paramount.
